Altechna's polarization rotator is made of crystalline quartz, with a coating of R < 0.2% at each surface. The rotator can be a substitute to retardation waveplates, in terms of rotation of polarization. Its movement is acheived by an optical activity, which is natural to enantiomorphous substances.
It is coated with anti reflection coatings, and do not need special adjustments. It rotates at a fixed angle with an accuracy of < 5 arcmin. Models are available with custom and counter-clockwise rotation. They provide rotators with 45º or 90º rotation.
The rotators are c-cut. Because of this, the polarization happens independently on the component's rotation over the optical axis. The device has a 25.4 mm mount made of black anodized aluminum.
