Overview AMARC Drum Heating Cabinets are designed to heat materials contained in 200 L drums or 1000 L IBCs. Available as standard or fully customised solutions, cabinets prioritise thermal efficiency and functional safety for industrial processes.
Application and reference sectors - Heating, phase change, viscosity reduction or melting of products in drums/containers prior to transfer or processing.
- Common sectors: chemicals, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, petrochemical, blending, oil & gas.
Construction Cabinets are built on a welded steel frame with load-bearing metal sheet walls and asbestos‑free mineral wool insulation. Key construction aspects:
- Structural sturdiness: internal protective structures and calculated load-bearing shelves to resist handling impacts.
- Thermal insulation: design minimises thermal bridges and heat loss to ensure efficient heat exchange.
Operation Heat transfer is primarily by forced-air convection. An upper ventilation unit pushes air through electrical elements or a heat exchanger (hot water, steam, diathermic oil) into distribution ducts that deliver heated air uniformly around drums/containers, creating turbulence for optimal exchange. Temperature is managed by a digital regulator on the control panel with a dedicated probe positioned for representative measurement.
Standard models and configuration options The standard range, developed from 30+ years of installations, offers multiple models and high configurability. Main configuration variables:
- Operating temperature: standard up to +100°C; variants up to +150°C (electric heating).
- Capacity: 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48 drums.
- Heating methods: Electric, Steam, Hot Water, Diathermic Oil.
- Installation: Indoor or Outdoor.
- ATEX/explosion-proof options: internal/external zoning available.
