PHICOMETER IN SITU SHEARING TEST
The phicometer allows to perform in situ shearing test. The borehole is drilled so as to minimize wall disturbance and
to keep a cavity diameter compatible with the equipment (63 mm).
The probe is lowered into the borehole to the required test depth, thanks to rods for pulling effort.
It can be used with the following equipment
Ménard pressuremeter
Nitrogen bottle with regulator
Drilling rods
APPLICATIONS
Measurement of the mechanical characteristics of soil, using a linear shearing test.
DATA ACQUISITION
PHICOMETER
THE +
Optimal test on soil hard to sampled
Fitted also in altered rocks
Fast execution and low cost compared to laboratory tests
DATA CAN BE PROCEED AFTER MANUAL INPUT, BY OUR SOFTWARE GEOVISION®
The Phicometer is a device for in situ measurement of mechanical characteristics ϕ and C of the ground by linear shearing test. Its advantages are, first, the possibility of performing tests on ground which cannot be sampled or which is difficult to sample, and second the low cost of this test method. It conforms to French standard XP NF P 94-120.
