The CrisBag® tote-based independent carrier system (ICS) for fully automated baggage handling delivers 100% tracking and traceability at every stage of the baggage system process. Each item of baggage remains in the same individually-controlled tote throughout the complete baggage handling process from check-in, through HBS screening, to the baggage storage and further transport to baggage make-up. Designed for high speed and long distances Individual Carrier Systems (ICS), like the CrisBag, can be designed to transport bags in carriers at high speeds over long distances. Efficient storge of early baggage or baggage for batch building is also no problem. The combination of intelligent BHS design and ability to optimise the daily baggage operation means that modern airports use this type of modular system to deliver a lower handling cost per passenger/bag. The use of TSA and ECAC3-certified in-tote screening of hold baggage adds an extra layer of baggage tracking and security, in addition to higher operational efficiency.
