Glass fibers are man made filaments originated from components found in nature. The major element contained in fiberglass yarns is the Silicon Dioxiode (SiO2), which confers the high modulus characteristic and high temperature resistance. Indeed, fiberglass are not only having high strength compared to other polymers but also an outstanding thermal insulator material. It can withstand continuous temperature exposure more than ℃. If it undergoes to post-process treatments, the temperature resistance can be further increased up to ℃.
The combination of high strength and high temperature resistance makes it ideal for many applications in the automotive, aerospace, electrical and rail industry.
Glassflex® is a product range of tubular sleeves made with braiding, knitting and woven techniques useful for a variety of applications, such as coated sleeves for electrical insulation, aluminum laminated sleeves for heat reflection, resin coated sleeves for thermal insulation, epoxy resin impregnated for fiber reinforced plastics (FRP) and many more.
The whole Glassflex® range offers a variety of construction choices based on the final application. The diameter range goes from 1.0 up to 300mm, with wall thickness from 0.1mm up to 10mm. Beside the standard range offered, custom solutions are also possible. Traditional tubular braids, triaxial braids, over braided configuration, etc…
All fiberglass sleeves are presented in their natural color, white. However, for special applications where there are requirements that the filaments shall be pre-colored with a specific RAL or Pantone color code, a specific product can be developed and offered.
