OverviewThe SORTEX F BioVision optical sorter inspects and separates groundnuts, tree nuts and dried fruit. It detects colour defects, diseased nuts and small foreign materials (including shells, plastics and glass). The machine is configurable for high-throughput single-pass or multiple re-sorting and is available with up to 2 chutes, delivering throughputs up to 12 tons per hour depending on product and configuration.
Key benefits- Detects defects from approximately 2 mm: identifies shells, fragments, shape defects and small foreign materials down to ~2 mm.
- Adjustable wide chute with removable separator: quickly reconfigure for high throughput or multiple re-sorting passes.
- Washdown-capable electronics: critical components fully sealed to IP56X to allow full cleaning without damaging electronics.
Highlight features- Automatic setup via machine learning: software automatically calibrates lighting and cameras during setup; operators select a sorting mode to start.
- PROfile shape detection: advanced shape-recognition detects sticks, attached stems, pits and misshapen items.
- Advanced colour and blemish detection: removes colour defects and diseased product to improve overall yield and product quality.
- Flexible configuration: up to 2 chutes, easily reconfigured for single-pass high throughput or multiple re-sorting passes.
- Global service network: spare parts, installation, upgrades, maintenance and training available locally.
Applications- Sorting of groundnuts, tree nuts (almonds, pecans, etc.) and dried fruit.
- Confectionery and snack sorting where fine foreign materials and shape defects must be removed.
