OFFSHORE containers are designed and manufactured to be used in oil and gas indus-try. Those industries require special containers that can withstand hard weather conditions as well as handling offshore. OFFSHORE containers meet stringent DNV 2.7.1 and BS EN12079 requirements. Offshore containers also refer to containers and portable tanks for dangerous goods The European Committee for Standardization EN-12079:2006 standard defines offshore containers as a “portable unit, specially designed for repeated use in the transport of goods or equipment to, from or between fixed and/or floating offshore installations and ships.” There are three categories of offshore containers, as defined by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN): Offshore Goods Containers: An offshore container built for the transport of goods, which can include general cargo containers, cargo baskets, special containers, boxes and gas cylinder racks, offshore portable tanks. These are capable to transport dangerous goods and must also meet the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code. Offshore Service Containers: Custom made containers for a specific task: labs, workshops, control stations… Offshore Waste Skip: A container that holds waste.
