Basalt roving is produced by melting basalt rock in a furnace, passing the melt through a die mill and thereby drawing continuous threads with subsequent application thereto of a sizing material, application to spools with subsequent drying and shaping. Basal roving is produced in the form of coils with external and internal unwinding and is used in the production of basalt-plastic, woven and non-woven materials for various technical applications.
