Description

ROBA®-switch 24V ✓ Input voltage 24 VDC ✓ Enables overexcitation ✓ Enables power reduction ✓ Integrated DC-side disconnection ROBA®-switch 24 VDC fast switching modules are used to operate DC loads with overexcitation or power reduction, e.g. electromagnetic brakes and clutches (ROBA-stop®, ROBA®-quick, ROBATIC®), as well as solenoids, electrovalves, etc. The ROBA®-switch 24 VDC is designed for an input voltage of 24 VDC. It has an internal switchover, which switches the output voltage from the input voltage (=overexcitation voltage) to holding voltage by pulse width modulation with 20 kHz. The overexcitation time can be set to 150 ms, 450 ms, 1 s, 1.5 s and 2.15 s via a DIP switch. Another DIP switch can be used to set the holding voltage to ¼, 1 /3, ½, and 2 /3 of the input voltage (equivalent to 6 VDC, 8 VDC, 12 VDC, and 16 VDC for an input voltage of 24 VDC). In addition, the ROBA®-switch 24 VDC has an integrated DC-side disconnection. In contrast to conventional DC-side disconnection, no further protective measures or external components are required. The DC-side disconnection is activated by default and leads to short switching times of the electromagnetic loads. However, this can be deactivated by installing a bridge between terminals 7 and 8 in order to obtain a soft deceleration and a quieter switching noise. However, the switching times increase significantly (approx. 6 - 10 times).
