Product overviewChroma CO is an automated gas chromatograph (auto-GC) equipped with a flame ionization detector (FID) and a catalytic methanizer for continuous analysis of CO, CO2 and CH4 in ambient or industrial air and for gas purity monitoring. A sampling loop injects a precise sample volume into isothermally controlled columns. Hydrogen or nitrogen can be used as carrier gas. The methanizer converts CO and CO2 to CH4 prior to FID detection.
Technical specifications- Model: Chroma CO
- Detection: FID with catalytic methanizer
- Cycle time: 5 min (CH4 & CO2); 10 min (CH4, CO2 & CO)
- Injection loop: 0.5 / 1 / 2 mL
- Detection limit: down to 5 ppb (with N2 purifier); 50 ppb with H2
- Ranges: ambient air 0–10 ppm (CO/CH4), 0–1000 ppm (CO2); configurable 0–10/20/50 ppm for pure gases
- Repeatability: RSD < 2% (concentration) and < 0.3% (retention time) over 48 h
- Gas supply: H2 30 mL/min (2 bar); Air 180 mL/min (3 bar); sample inlet via vacuum pump; pneumatic valve 90 mL/min per commutation
Analysis principleThe catalytic methanizer converts CO and CO2 to methane before FID detection, improving sensitivity for permanent gases. Columns are held isothermally and sample injection uses a fixed-volume loop.
SoftwareVistachrom software provides data visualization, storage, recalculation, calibration, export and measurement setup. It computes retention time, peak area, mass and concentration profiles.
