There are thousands of traditional hand grinders / swing-frame grinders in operation in foundries around the world. They require a significant physical input from the operator in order
to be effective and over a working shift the efficiency drops considerably. They are also subject to high vibration and can be dangerous to operate.
The Clansman approach has been to take the human away from the direct contact with the tool (source of vibration, fatigue & danger) and place them in a safe, air conditioned cabin. Using a combination of manual and semi-automated controls with a quick change facility of tooling (stones / discs / cups), the power of the grinder can be harnessed to perform all functions required such as:
• Cutting off large risers
• Fast metal removal of riser stubs
• Blending surfaces
• Light removal of flash and overpour
In addition to these functions, Clansman Dynamics Grinders can now also utilise diamond discs / stones for operation on cast iron. This results in more efficient cutting as the disc diameter does not reduce and the surface finish is much improved, minimising final machining operations.
