Uncompromising Value and Performance The EDGE FL platform leverages our decades of experience in designing and building fiber lasers. However, our new design is not just an evolution of our earlier lasers – or anyone else’s. To offer customers the optimal laser, we started from a blank page with no assumptions about what a fiber laser “should” be. With the exacting market requirements of high-power cutting applications as our guide, we developed our EDGE FL utilizing the best-in-class technology needed to satisfy those requirements. And since we manufacture all the necessary components, we can achieve a level of supply chain resilience that ensures customers can always receive the high-quality laser they expect. There are two ways we maximize value without sacrificing performance. The first is vertical integration. Coherent produces all the critical components of our fiber lasers in-house. This includes pump chips, active fibers, and so much more.
