Overview
The ServiceBox CSB 4.0 is an industrial IIoT gateway designed to connect Coperion extruders, feeders, material-handling equipment and complete compounding lines to the C-BEYOND 4.0 platform. It supports retrofit on existing machines and enables secure remote monitoring, diagnostics and maintenance.

Hardware concept

• CSB 4.0 Red Box: device installed at each machine (new machines may ship with Red Box preinstalled; older machines can be retrofitted).
• CSB 4.0 Green Box: central gateway aggregating Red Box connections and serving as the gateway to the C-BEYOND platform.

Previous CSB versions can be replaced with CSB 4.0 units and integrated into the C-BEYOND productivity network.

Security and operation
The CSB 4.0 architecture is designed for secure operation with multiple defence layers. Key security features include:

• Outbound-only connections: Red Boxes initiate connections only to prelisted C-BEYOND destinations; inbound connections are not accepted.
• Encryption: all communication between the Green Box and its destinations is encrypted.
• C-BEYOND Private Cloud: Red and Green Boxes maintain contact with a private cloud and receive automatic security updates.
• Embedded Linux device: CSB 4.0 runs on a hardened Linux kernel following established security practices.
• Certification: the setup is audited annually for ISO 27001:2013 compliance.
