Dalmine LS has designed a gravity racking system consisting of racks configured in tunnels equipped with roller lanes. The slope of the lanes ensures that the load units slide according to LIFO or FIFO criteria, also known as counter-slope. At the end of each lane are the stop rollers which ensure controlled sliding of the pallets. Furthermore, loading and unloading operations, normally carried out by forklift trucks, can be automated with the use of AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) or LGVs (Laser Guided Vehicles).
Applications
Dalmine LS has designed a gravity pallet racking system consisting of racks configured as tunnels equipped with roller lanes. The slope of the lanes ensures the movement of the load units according to a LIFO or FIFO logic, also known as reverse slope. At the end of each lane, there are braking rollers that ensure controlled pallet movement. Additionally, the loading and retrieval operations, normally carried out by forklifts, can be automated using AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) or LGVs (Laser Guided Vehicles).
In addition to significantly reducing handling times, the gravity racking system is the winning solution for high-turnover warehouses with continuous flow, such as in the case of perishable goods. The compactness of the lanes and the elimination of aisles allow for floor space optimization of up to 60%.
The most powerful universal solution
Thanks to the gravity racking, it is possible to work simultaneously on loading and picking of storage units so that operators can work simultaneously.
