Overview
The EFA-SST® EX is a high-speed spiral door designed for indoor and outdoor use in potentially explosive atmospheres. It provides very fast opening and controlled closing with a solid door leaf based on aluminium laths. Options include transparent EFA-CLEAR® laths and ventilation laths. The spiral supports the laths without contact to ensure wear-free operation and long-term transparency.

Details
The EX-series is developed in accordance with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU. All electrical components are documented with explosion-protection properties and IEC certificate numbers in the operating equipment list supplied with the door. Mechanical explosion protection is implemented according to zone requirements. The control cabinet must be installed outside the EX zone.

The smooth door leaf for the 151-mm division version consists of double-walled, anodised aluminium laths with high material thickness; the 225-mm division uses single-walled aluminium laths. EFA-CLEAR® transparent laths can be integrated in any number depending on required light incidence; ventilation laths allow defined air exchange. The spiral holds the door leaf at a distance instead of winding it onto a shaft, saving space while optimising opening speed, durability and quiet, wear-free operation.
