Types of Custom Unwinders

• With double-support reel holders — for medium to high roll weights (between 150 and 1000 kg)
• With cantilever reel holders — for medium to low roll weights (between 0 and 150 kg)

Overall dimensions Standard dimensions are available. Other dimensions can be assessed for feasibility by the technical team.

Structure Frames made of 20 mm thick iron or stainless steel, triangulated with strong braces to achieve maximum moment of inertia in all three spatial directions.

Reel loading and unloading The reel lifter uses a double-arm support system operated with worm screws, positioned and geared on each side of the unwinder frames. The lifter picks up the expanding shaft and the reel from the floor, raises it to the required height, and transfers the reel along the arms to the safety supports for operation, increasing safety and reducing operator effort while speeding up changeover times.

Threading Frames include strategically placed windows for easy access and handling of the web. The dancer's movable part incorporates a lifting and locking mechanism enabling the dancer to be lifted and secured for threading without bending, reducing operator effort and setup times.

Web aligner Available in automatic and manual versions. Includes horizontal position sensor, axial displacement servo and movable frames with a ±50 mm adjustment range coordinated through high-precision control electronics to continuously maintain correct web position.

Splicing table Manual splicing table with a web clamp that ensures firm hold, allowing the operator to prepare splices with comfort and precision.

Web tension control Automatic tension control system including a linear dancer, distance sensor, control electronics and electromagnetic brake. The dancer position is monitored and adjusted using a P&D algorithm that regulates brake power to maintain constant web tension and stable unwinding.

Automatic splicing Seamless joining during the unwinding process with options for registration splicing for perfect alignment. Butt splicing technology prevents an increase in web thickness, ensuring uninterrupted continuity for high-precision processes and minimizing machine downtime.
