Stainless tanks are mostly used in the food industry, industrial facilities, and hotels to obtain domestic and drinking water. Before manufacturing a stainless tank, some design conditions must be determined. The conditions to be considered before production are as follows.
Operating temperature and pressure
Container dimensions
Material properties
Head type (Spherical Head, Ellipsoidal Head, Conical Section, Torispheric Head)
Pipe connection mouth dimensions and pressure class
Climatic conditions (wind, earthquake and ground characteristics)
Some fluids show different physical and chemical properties at different temperature values. Therefore, when selecting the material required for a stainless water tank, the temperature value of the fluid to be used should be known. The wall thickness of the tanks should also be determined according to the operating pressure and the volume of the tank.
The most important issue in the production of stainless boilers is that the welding process is perfect. The main defects in welds are hairline cracks and undercuts. Since the small hairline cracks that occur are not visible to the naked eye, all welds must be checked with x-rays. Possible hairline cracks in tanks put into use without this control may lead to major problems over time due to the high pressure inside the tank and fatigue of the material. For this reason, it is very important to work with experienced and certified welders for stainless boiler welding. All welding masters within Ekin Endüstri have a BV certificate.
