Description

The ASB 120 starting current limiter limits the current of a machine starting in no-load operation the machine connection power for about 700 milliseconds immediately after it is switched on and then switches the current fully through in order to effectively prevent the house circuit breaker on the public power supply system from tripping during the time phase in which the magnetic field of the coils of an electric motor has not yet been established. DESCRIPTION The ASB 120 starting current limiter is used in conjunction with AC electric motors and power tools that start in no-load operation. This electronic current limiter prevents the house circuit breaker in the mains connection box from being tripped by high inrush currents. The start-up current limiter is also suitable for capacitor motors, large transformers as well as halogen lamps. Not suitable for compressors, high-pressure cleaners and other devices that start under load. The ASB cannot be used on inverters and current generators, since current limitation does not take place during load changes, nor is the continuous current limited. The ASB is only suitable for operation on the public power supply. The use of the ASB is quite simple. Instead of the power tool, the ASB is plugged into the socket and the tool - possibly via an extension cable - is plugged into the ASB. The ASB is immediately ready for operation, there are no settings to be made, there are not even any elements for operation. Now start the power tool at idle and ideally you will no longer notice that the ASB limits the inrush current.
