The introduction of new regulations related to the packaging sector sees corrugated cardboard as a favorite material compared to other products we transform. Unlike expanded materials or plastic derivatives, cardboard, in addition to being recyclable , is 100% biodegradable : it essentially destroys itself and does not produce harmful fumes if incinerated. It is normally made up of two paper surfaces, called "covers", which enclose the paper corrugation, giving stability and resistance to the whole. The glues used are all natural and derived from corn starches or potato starch. The typologies are now infinite but, in summary, we can distinguish: a single corrugation, high or low ( single cardboard ), two combined high/low corrugations ( triple cardboard ) and a set of three corrugations ( triple wave cardboard ) for specific high-resistance uses. Transformed into finished packaging, corrugated cardboard (or cardboard sheet) becomes a sturdy and versatile container , ideal for grouping, transporting and protecting. Since the wave height can vary from 1.5mm to 5mm, different combinations can be obtained which lead to different final cardboard thicknesses from 1.5 to 15mm. In addition to the thickness, the quality of the paper used and its weight also become crucial in determining whether the resistance is greater or lesser .
