Description

Product overview

The UV-BOX 636 is an accelerated weathering tester for UV aging and moisture condensation designed to reproduce the effects of sunlight, dew and rain on durable materials. It uses fluorescent UV lamps to deliver short-wave UV radiation combined with controlled condensation cycles to accelerate outdoor aging mechanisms.

Simulated types of damage

  • Color change
  • Loss of gloss
  • Chalking
  • Cracking
  • Cracks
  • Blistering
  • Veiling
  • Brittleness
  • Loss of strength
  • Oxidation

Condensation and water handling

The condensation system realistically reproduces dew and amplifies its effect using elevated temperatures. The condensation cycle also purifies the supply water automatically (evaporation/condensation acts like distillation and removes impurities).

Operation and samples

The unit is controlled via a modern touch-screen panel. UV-BOX 636 accommodates up to 48 standard samples (75 mm x 150 mm). UV lamps are not included in delivery.
