Description

Fully automatic electro-hydraulic cupping and deep-draw cup test machine for assessing the ductility of coated, ferrous and non-ferrous sheet metals.

Application
The machine is designed to perform Erichsen cupping and deep-draw cup tests on coated sheet materials (e.g. coil coatings, painted, plastisol-coated or electroplated materials). Suitable for sheet thicknesses approx. 0.1 mm to 3.0 mm (based on material tensile strength of 400 N/mm²); maximum drawable thickness depends on material tensile strength. The machine supports redraw operations (secondary deep-drawing with smaller die/punch) and can be combined with the Bead Test Instrument (Model 227) for intensified coating destruction tests.

Purpose
  • Reduce production rejects by monitoring coating ductility and adhesion during manufacturing and in-process inspections.
  • Immediate sorting of incoming material by cupping or deep-draw tests without special sample preparation to verify material properties.
  • Electro-hydraulic drive and robust construction deliver wear-resistant operation with high test accuracy and low maintenance requirements.

Design
Sturdy steel housing integrating the test aggregate (test cylinder with work piston, blank holder plate and die). All components are accessible from the outside for quick tool changes. The operating sequence executes blank cutting, drawing and cup ejection in a single automatic cycle. Operator controls are ergonomically arranged on the control panel.
