Product overviewErveysa dead-length collets (F Type Collet) are engineered for reproducible clamping position and dimensional stability in CNC and automatic lathe operations. They are suitable for high-speed machining where repeatable part stop and consistent gripping are required.
MaterialThese F Type collets are manufactured from spring steel with high hardness and are rated for operation up to 290 °C.
Applications- CNC lathes, automatic lathes, revolver and index machines
- High-speed production and serial machining of small-diameter parts
- Typical sectors: medical, automotive, aerospace
Design notes and usageMaterial selection and heat treatment determine performance and service life. Main-spindle collets frequently include an internal groove for improved grip; sub-spindle collets are commonly groove-free to avoid damaging finished parts. For very small diameters main-spindle collets may also be groove-free. For high-wear production runs, carbide inserts can be welded inside the collet (note: carbide may be damaged if the collet is struck). Internal coatings are an option to enhance durability and surface quality.
Revolver lathe collets and F-code mappingRevolver, index, mechanical automatic and CNC automatic collets are designated by several standards and include references such as A15, A20, A25, 25 INDEX, A30, 36 TRAUB, A42 and A60. Common F-code to DIN/E mappings include:
- F22 (140 E)
- F28 (148 E)
- F32 (161 E)
- F35 (163 E)
- F42 (171 E)
- F48 (173 E)
- F66 (185 E)
Swiss ColletSwiss-style collets provide precise, repeatable gripping for high-speed automatic lathe operations and help minimize machine wear on small, high-precision components used in medical, automotive and aerospace applications.
F Type ColletF Type collets are standard dead-length solutions manufactured from hardened materials for reproducible clamping. They are used to improve process stability, reduce setup variation and increase throughput in automatic turning operations.
