Spherical roller bearings have two rows of symmetrical barrel rollers that rotate on a single spherical raceway in the outer ring. The two inner ring raceways are inclined at an angle to the bearing axis.
Because of their high load carrying capacity, spherical roller bearings are ideally suited for applications where extremely high loads have to be accommodated. Moreover, spherical roller bearings can sustain axial forces in both directions, offering an excellent self-aligning capability and are impervious to shaft deflections as well as misalignment of the bearings seats.
Spherical roller bearing are available with cylindrical bore or tapered bore.
They are produced with normal tolerances (P0) as standard or with increased accuracy corresponding to tolerance classes P6 and P5 (where running tolerance is critical).
For bearing arrangements where loads are heavy and operating condisions very arduous, and where particular demands are made with regard to sealing, EVOLMEC can supply spherical roller bearings with fitted with a contact seal, on one or both sides.
An anti-corrosion surface treatment can be performed on the bearing surfaces in case of specific applications.
Spherical roller bearing rings and rollers are manufactured in core hardened steel 100Cr6 (UNI 3097 – WNr. 1.3505) or 100CrMn6 (WNr.1.3520) according to the sizes.
On request and for special applications the bearing rings can be manufactured in case-hardening steel.
