Description
EXAIR Vortex Tubes use compressed air to produce two separated airstreams—one cold, one hot—without moving parts. Temperature, flow and cooling power are adjustable to provide cold air from -50°F to +260°F (-46°C to +127°C). Constructed from wear‑resistant stainless steel, they are suitable for corrosive or hygienic industrial environments and require no electrical supply.

Generator kits ordered with a vortex tube include all generators for the specified tube and permit configuring the vortex tube for the full range of capacities and styles. Generator only — specify capacity (SCFM) and style ("R" = max. refrigeration, "C" = max. cold temperature). Example: 15-R = 15 SCFM generator for max. refrigeration; 50-C = 50 SCFM generator for max. cold temperature.

Performance Notes
Back pressure: performance deteriorates with back pressure on the cold exhaust. Low back pressure up to 2 PSIG (0.1 BAR) will not change performance; 5 PSIG (0.3 BAR) changes performance by approx. 5°F (2.8°C). Filtration: clean compressed air is essential; filtration of 25 microns or less is recommended. EXAIR filters contain a 5 micron element and are sized for the flow. Inlet air temperature: vortex tube produces a temperature drop from supply air temperature; elevated inlet temperatures increase cold air temperatures. Regulation: recommended line pressures 80–110 PSIG (5.5–7.6 BAR). Maximum 250 PSIG (17.2 BAR); minimum 20 PSIG (1.4 BAR).
