Extronics has developed the new iRFID500 handheld Bluetooth passive UHF RFID tag reader act as either a highly functional accessory to these smart devices, or as a powerful standalone device for added operational flexibility. The iRFID500 supports a variety of applications, such as inventory management, tracking assets, monitoring maintenance, recording work packages, and proving regulatory compliance.

The iRFID500 is compatible with a number of smart devices, including those with Windows, Android, and Apple operating systems. Connected via Bluetooth, it forms part of your Industrial Internet of Things and supports the development of an Industry 4.0 work environment. You can view tag reads in real time and input more information on your smart devices using the handy stylus nib.

Used as a standalone device, the iRFID500 enables you to operate cost-effectively without the extra expense of a smart devices. Its internal clock stamps tag reads with a time and date, and the information is easily downloaded to a PC using the cable provided.

It's designed to be easy to use for shift work - small, lightweight, and manoeuvrable for minimal worker fatigue, with a 12 hour battery life. LEDs, vibrations, and audible beeps give the user immediate feedback and ensure successful operation.

The iRFID500 is available either as an industrial version, which is rugged and highly durable, or as a fully certified version for use in ATEX, IECEx, and North American hazardous areas.
