The swift opens automatically and its circumference may be adjusted according to the type of hank, from 40” (1.020 mm) to 90” (2.300 mm). A special electromagnetic brake placed inside the swift allows stopping the swift itself in case of yarn breakage and at the end of the hank unwinding. Furthermore, an electronically controlled deceleration ramp allows stopping the spindle without causing yarn breakage.
