The DTL rolls: Direct Thermal Transfer DTL rolls are paper reels without liner (hence the wording of linerless labels) suitable for direct thermal printing, which combine the characteristics of flexibility in the production of different formats with an excellent cost-benefit ratio. DTL solutions are used for the labeling of retail products, food scales, products in warehouses and logistics, and for printing from portable devices (mobile printing). Advantages Linerless labels The absence of silicone support and a lower thickness of the material, means that the total number of labels per reel is greater for the same diameter. This allows a reduction in transport and logistics costs for the same quantity of labels; a lower workload for operators thanks to the fact that they will have to replace the reel fewer times. Each roll uses fewer materials: the lower thickness and the elimination of waste liners and matrices to be disposed of, allow for more sustainable labels and help reduce waste along the entire supply chain. In detail, the advantages are: • Zero waste, as the absence of liner implies less use of raw materials and no waste material to dispose of; • Different formats, as it is possible to print labels of different lengths starting from the same roll. This results in less complexity by managing a small number of label formats; • Savings on transport and warehouse costs, considering up to 60% more labels per roll thanks to the elimination of liner and waste (with the same label format and roll size). This results in fewer total boxes of rolls;
