Description

Overview
FLS apron feeders provide a consistent, controlled feed of bulk material between process stages to stabilise downstream performance. Engineered to handle sticky, frozen or highly abrasive materials across a wide range of particle sizes and densities, they reduce equipment wear and minimise blockages while enabling steady volumetric feed metering.

Key benefits
  • Improved material flow: delivers a regulated feed to downstream equipment and reduces surges from direct truck or rail dumps.
  • Extended service life: heavy-duty impact beams, manganese-steel pans and robust chain and shaft components suited to severe duties.
  • Application-specific design: custom layouts using standard components to fit site constraints; installation within existing footprints; DEM analysis available for highly challenging materials.
  • Maintenance efficiency: wear parts designed for easy access and rapid replacement to minimise downtime; bearings and rollers supplied with lifetime or automatic lubrication options.

Product details
FLS apron feeders act as a controlled interface between stockpiles, hoppers, silos, truck or rail unloads and primary crushers or other downstream equipment. They reclaim stored material and convey it on an evenly moving deck to reduce blockages. Drive units are available in hydraulic or electromechanical configurations depending on duty and site requirements.

Maintenance and service design
  • Designed for continuous operation; stoppages are typically required only for wear-part replacement.
  • Worn apron plates and chains are accessible from the take-up end for quick replacement.
  • Sprockets use bolted tooth segments for straightforward interchangeability or replacement.
  • Bearings, chains and rollers are supplied either lifetime-lubricated or with an automatic lubrication system.

Applications
  • Feeding primary crushers and receiving crusher discharge.
  • Reclaiming material from hoppers, silos and stockpiles.
  • Unloading bulk materials from rail cars, trucks and other bulk-handling points.
  • Handling sticky, wet, frozen, hard or abrasive ores across a range of particle sizes.

Caractéristiques / spécifications techniques
  • Typical maximum throughput: up to 15,000 tph (dependent on model and application).
  • Construction: heavy-duty frame with manganese-steel pans.
  • Chain system: sealed-and-lubricated (SALT) chain components; hydraulic-assisted take-up for correct chain tensioning.
  • Main shafts: forged alloy steel.
  • Impact protection: impact beams and a natural material bed on top of the feeder to absorb impact loads.
  • Drive options: hydraulic or electromechanical drives.
  • Feed control: volumetric regulated metering available to prevent flooding.
  • Maintenance features: bolted sprocket tooth segments, lifetime or automatic lubrication for bearings/rollers, wear parts accessible from the take-up end.
  • Design services: custom design to site conditions; DEM analysis option for challenging materials.
  • Delivery/installation: feeders delivered in pre-assembled sections or as single units depending on size to speed installation and commissioning.
