Overview
The Phoenix® 500C bevel gear cutting machine from Gleason is engineered to deliver speed, flexibility and ease of use for medium- to high-volume production of precision bevel gears for trucks, buses and similar applications.

Versatility and supported gear types
The Phoenix 500C can manufacture a wide range of bevel gears and related components.

Speed and productivity
The machine design places cutter and workpiece in close proximity, producing shorter, faster motions and delivering low chip-to-chip times for high productivity.

Static and dynamic stiffness
Column and slide design provide high static and dynamic stiffness. Rails and ball screws are well protected and machine components are robust and precision-engineered to meet high-volume requirements.

Integrated chamfering
Optional serial heel chamfering is available and designed to be protected from the cutting area during gear generation.

Significantly reduced non-productive time
Flexible robotic automation enables exceptionally low part-change times and facilitates loading/unloading of parts up to 150 kg.

Integrated automation
Available with Gleason stackable-cart and palletized automation solutions. Additional inline processes can be added to meet specific requirements, including laser marking, chamfering/deburring, washing and inspection.

Controls and software
Offered with modern CNC controls (Fanuc 30i or Siemens 840D) and the GEMS machine software for easy setup, intuitive operation and network capabilities. GEMS is available on-site or in the cloud for design, optimization and remote monitoring.

Ergonomics and maintenance
The operator work height is aligned with the cutter head and workpiece for easy access to the work area without the need for a platform, simplifying routine operation and maintenance.
