What is the stamping operation?
Stamping is the action-oriented process of shaping a stamp. An embossing is the shaping tool used to transform the shape of an object into the desired shape by bending or shaping it. The process can alter the diameter of rods, hoses and/or tubes.
The stamping process can be classified as internal, external or combined. Goldstone suggests using a combination for large diameter RTP/TCP pipe, for small diameter pipe or field connection you can use an external swaging operation. The design of the steel fixture is not the same according to the different stamping methods.
Internal swaging can provide grip to hose material and be used to improve flow area through pipes or hoses. In fact, this form of embossing increases the size of the applicable articles and plays a key role in reducing the risks of bacteria build-up near the end of the hose or tube. It also helps reduce turbulence by providing a strong mechanical bond and tack.
