The Disc Pelletizer is the equipment designed for converting powdered materials into uniform, round pellets.
THEORY OF OPERATION of the DISC PELLETIZER (also named PAN GRANULATOR) : The product to be granulated is fed regularly into the bowl with a constant flow distributor, preferably placed at the top of the disk pelletizer (PG = “Plateau Granulateur” = Disc Pelletizer). The product is driven by the rotation of the bowl and is rolled, forming a granule much in the same way as a snowball. Because of the controlled inclination of the bowl, the granule is ejected quickly and therefore while it is still relatively small. To get larger granules, it is necessary to increase the residence time the granule stay into the bowl by inclining it less. The binding of coating product is sprayed by a spray nozzle system.
DESIGN: Heavy duty welded sheet metal structure. Round carbon steel bowl, or stainless steel for corrosive products, mounted on a specially-adapted ball race. Bowl cover. Moto reduction gear drive unit with speed variator. Inclination system using angle-drive.
Different preparation for the binding product could be adjusted according to the flow, the temperature, the concentration, the viscosity of the product.
ADVANTAGES: Very flexible to use because of the excellent range of adjustments. Really silent running. Absolute cleaning of bowl by fixed or mobile scraper system, working on the sides and base. Excellent sealing between bowl and cover for high-volatility products.
