Description
The difference of the portal crane from the overhead cranes is that the bridge construction is connected to the foot constructions, so that the crane can walk on rails without the need for an infrastructure such as walking beams or columns. As with overhead cranes, gantry cranes can be produced as double girder or single girder. At least one of the legs has a ladder structure with a railing in order to climb onto the beam.
