Description

Product overview
The GR-3880 is a bidirectional DC rectifier designed for 2-quadrant operation. In regenerative mode excess energy is fed back to the AC grid without switching. The system comprises two IGBT rectifiers that can operate individually, in series or in parallel, providing constant voltages in the range 600–750 V DC. A separation transformer ensures galvanic isolation between DC and AC networks. Configuration and operation are available via Modbus TCP/IP or VNC for integration and adaptation.

Scope of application
1. Construction of internal company DC networks / supply of DC consumers
  • Depending on operating mode, voltages of 600–750 V DC (single mode) or 1200–1500 V DC (with fully loadable midpoint) are available.
  • Examples: 3-level converters, DC-driven plants and machines.

2. Power supply for E-motor emulators
  • With voltages from 600 to 1500 V DC the HV supply provides required energy for high-voltage applications.

General data & safety features
  • Rectifier design: IGBT, PWM, galvanically isolated
  • Cooling: liquid cooling (WF)
  • Overload-capable (specified overload modes)
  • Safety switching device according to EN ISO 13849-1 (performance level c)
  • AC load disconnect switch
  • Connection terminals for external emergency stop
  • Two analog voltmeters mounted in the cabinet door
  • DC outputs are potential-separated from the AC grid and from each other (galvanic separation)
  • Indicator lamp for operation
  • Each output channel includes an insulation monitor

Interfaces
  • Modbus TCP/IP
  • VNC over Ethernet

Circuit / arrangement
The GR-3880 is delivered as two galvanically separated rectifiers which can be flexibly connected according to application requirements. Combining two units enables additional operating modes, higher power and current; combined control is possible via a plant interface.

Technical data (extracted)
Installed power: 300 kW
Overload capability: 320 kW for 30 seconds, every 5 minutes
Output current per channel (examples): UDCmin: 250 A; UDCmax: 200 A
Input: 3/PE AC 400 V / 380 V ±10 %; at nominal voltage 380 V, rated power including overload is reduced by 5 %
Measurement resolution: Voltage 16 bit; Current 16 bit
Control accuracy: Voltage 0.4 % fs; Current 3 % fs

Additional technical / environmental / mechanical data
  • Voltage ripple on ohmic load: < 0.5 % fs
  • Permissible environmental conditions (storage/transport/operation) according to EN 60721 series with specific classes and temperature ranges
  • Dimensions (W x D x H): 1600 x 800 x 2200 mm
  • Cooling method: WF (liquid cooling)
  • Safety of machinery: EN 60204-1 (with noted exceptions, see product documentation); safety switching device according to EN ISO 13849-1
