Humidity controller for häwa control cabinets
Automatic control of humidity in control cabinets is done with a humidity controller that is used in combination with heaters. The humidity controller in heaters measures and controls the relative humidity in control cabinets so that the specified humidity is not exceeded and no condensation occurs. This ensures that the built-in electrical components remain fully functional and safety standards can be met. häwa offers mechanical and electronic humidity controllers for control cabinets and enclosures.
How does an automatic humidity controller work?
A humidity controller not only measures and controls the humidity in a control cabinet or enclosure, it also intervenes when the humidity is too high and tries to compensate for it using heaters or fans. This not only prevents condensation from forming, but also increases the service life of electrical components. A humidity controller consists of a sensor and a switch – there are mechanical and electronic humidity controllers. The type of humidity measurement differs in this respect:
• A mechanical humidity controller reacts to changes in the length of fibers or hairs under the influence of humidity.
• An electronic humidity controller , on the other hand, reacts to changes in the electrical resistance of a special polymer layer within the sensor.
Mechanical humidity control to prevent condensation
The mechanical humidity controller is used to prevent condensation in control cabinets. The humidity level can be set to between 40 and 90% relative humidity. If this humidity level is exceeded, the connected heater is switched on.
