Like the F-type, it utilizes a guillotine shaped blade moving over a fixed knife. The cutting starts from the two media edges and ends in the center. The cutter is equipped with a screwdriver override feature to manually move the blade in case of a jam. The cutter can be operated by an external switching contact or via a microprocessor using the cutter internal micro switch.
