Oleo-pneumatic accumulators have many generic applications: Energy storage, shock absorption, water shock absorption, pressure transfer between two different fluids, pressure maintenance in leaking circuits, to compensate variations in the volume of a liquid due to its thermal expansion, in machine tools, etc… Oleo-pneumatic accumulators are used in hydraulic applications in all types of sectors: Agricultural, chemical, transport, energy, etc… Oleo-pneumatic accumulators are normally used in oleo-hydraulic circles (circuits with oil), however there are some applications where water is used instead of oil. There are two types of oil-pneumatic accumulators: Piston and bladder.
