Description

Whether it’s a city festival in springtime, a summer festival or a Christmas market in winter, the certified mobile vehicle blockers from Hörmann are an efficient solution allowing access to different outdoor events as well as at-risk areas and buildings, regardless of when and where. The mobile vehicle blockers prevent vehicle passage, making them a crucial part of your security concept. As they do not require any earthworks or anchoring, the module systems are easy to install and remove and can be quickly relocated for further use – a key advantage in cities and municipalities hosting events. Certified single module Flexible application Fully assembled Simple logistics Subtle design How the OktaBlock works Mobile vehicle barrier OktaBlock secures access to event grounds. One of its most important features is its octagonal base with a jagged edge. In the event of a vehicle impact, the bollard tilts forward and the base plate with its prongs wedges between the vehicle and the road. Due to the braking effect achieved in this way, the vehicle comes to a standstill and is unfit to drive in just a few metres. Due to its axisymmetric geometry, the Hörmann OktaBlock has no predefined impact side and can thus prevent a vehicle collision from any direction. Certified personal protection The effect of the OktaBlock has been proven in multiple crash tests The mobile vehicle barrier meets the crash test standards of the international safety standards BSI PAS68:2013 and IWA-14-1:2013. In standard testing, an unmanned lorry with a test weight of 7.5 tonnes and a speed of 50 km/h drives into a single OktaBlock module. The resulting impact energy is around 750,000 joules.
