IDS NXT oslo makes consumer technology, as known from action cameras, available to users in a robust AI-enabled industrial camera. The combined expertise of IDS and Ambarella has resulted in a new class of intelligent industrial cameras that can be seamlessly integrated into the complete IDS NXT AI vision system. This includes the option of training individual neural networks and executing them in customised vision apps directly on the camera.
The models are designed as robust edge devices that can perform AI-based image analyses themselves, transmit image data live as compressed video streams (H264 or MJPEG) via RTSP or HTTP and record important events as video sequences in the internal camera memory or on an FTP server.
Image processing results are available via REST API or can be displayed as overlays in the live video stream. This benefits, for example, applications in which people are to be directly supported by AI-based image processing through visual analyses of their environment.
Thanks to a special chip, image analyses are carried out at high speed (>25fps) and delivered the results as live overlays via RTSP in compressed video streams for end devices. An MJPEG-compressed HTTP stream supports visualisation tasks.
IDS NXT oslo executes neural networks autonomously and improves image quality thanks to the integrated ISP. The embedded system eliminates the need for a PC, reducing energy consumption and system costs.
With industry-typical screw-type interfaces and a robust housing, the cameras can be easily integrated into the most demanding industrial or agricultural environments.
