Description

The lightning protection device (PDC) has a double protective system, watertight insulation and anti-spark protection. The external, insulated metal armature has a floating potential with respect to the earthed shaft, forming a capacitor, when the surrounding electric field is high. All the components of the lightning conductor are encapsulated in high density polyurethane resin which is resistant to atmospheric conditions. If the electric field is higher than 50 kv/m, the external PDC arrester armature captures this energy and releases impulses into the atmosphere in the form of an ascending tracer. The average speed of these upward discharges is 1 µm/s and this process is called breakthrough time. Lightning capture occurs when the impulses from the electronic lightning rod meet the downward tracers of the storm cloud, creating a path for the discharge to be directed towards the earth, creating the preferred point of impact. The Sensor lightning conductor is completely watertight, given the high degree of insulation in the system, as it withstands the harshest weather conditions, such as rain, ice, wind, etc… The spark path achieves maximum speed when it receives an electrical discharge and keeps the PDC lightning conductor at a standstill when there is no risk of thunderstorms. The SENSOR lightning conductor has a report, according to the test method, ‘RP 58.01 of the AENOR brand for lightning conductors with an ignition device’ test of 10 positive current impulses and 10 negative current impulses with a 10/350 μs lightning wave, 100kA amplitude and specific energy with a certificate according to the UNE 21.186 – 2011 standard protocol
