OverviewIntelligent Protect AC/FR is a water-based, ready-to-use flame-retardant protective coating based on modified natural resins. Applied by airless spray or roller, it dries to form a peelable, flexible film that protects non-porous surfaces from damage during construction and retrofit works. It combines anti-corrosion protection with flame-retardant properties and is suitable for marine environments. The film is removable without residue after works are complete. Suitable for internal and external use.
Key benefits- Warrington Exova certified for fire performance.
- Combined anti-corrosion protection and flame retardancy.
- Compatible with glass, aluminium and other non-porous surfaces.
- Applied by airless spray (point-and-spray with standard Graco machines) or by long-haired paint roller.
- Peelable flexible protective film — removable without residue after works.
- Up to 12 months internal protection when left inside buildings.
- Solvent free and does not release toxic gases when burning.
- Designed for short- and long-term internal and external protection.
- Free training offered for product application.
Prior to application- Carry out a trial on a small visible area with a paintbrush; remove after 3 days and evaluate compatibility.
- Mask ventilation areas as required.
- Stir Intelligent Protect AC/FR for homogenisation; do not add solvents or water; product is ready to use.
Application- Minimum requirements: apply at temperatures > 5°C and on dry surfaces; do not apply during rain or when rain is expected within 24 hours after application.
- Apply sufficient thickness to guarantee easy peelability and complete protection: typically 0.6–0.7 kg/m2 (≈600–700 μm).
- For increased risk of damage, apply a total of 1.0 kg/m2 (≈1000 μm) in two layers, applying the second layer when the first layer is tack free.
- If using a paint roller, use a long-haired roller and always apply in two layers; apply the second layer shortly after the first layer is tack free.
- Film will be tack free within 0.5 to 8 hours depending on temperature, humidity, ventilation and sprayed thickness.
- Total drying time ranges from 4 to 48 hours; during this period the film must not come into contact with rain or water, nor with temperatures < 5°C.
- For indoor applications allow sufficient ventilation.
- Remove the protective film at the end of construction works.
UsesTemporary protective coating for non-porous surfaces to prevent damage in construction, retrofit and marine environments. Suitable for glass, aluminium and other non-porous substrates. Ideal where both anti-corrosion and flame-retardant properties are required.
