Overview
Lime Prime is a waterborne primer formulated for porous and low-cohesion substrates prior to the application of waterborne dispersion coatings. The primer consolidates friable surfaces, improves adhesion of subsequent coatings on difficult substrates and reduces the risk of surface defects. Typical substrates include concrete, brick, calcium silicate stone and lime renders.

Application

• Apply by low-pressure spray, airless spray or by roller.
• Use a single coat at approximately 100 g/m² (adjust to substrate porosity).
• Shake before use.
• Remove dust and all friable material from the substrate prior to application.
• Allow to dry before applying waterborne dispersion coatings.
• Do not dilute.
• Apply only to porous substrates.
• Minimum application temperature: +5° C. Recommended application range: +5° C to +35° C.
• Do not apply in direct sunlight.
• Clean tools with water.

Typical uses

• Consolidation of older, dusty substrates such as lime-based renders.
• Preparation of water-sensitive substrates such as gypsum board and gypsum plaster.
• Preparation of bare, porous or lime substrates prior to liquid-applied airtight or waterproof membranes.
