High-capacity EMV vacuum dryers for large carpentries and timber tradersEMV discontinuous vacuum dryers with net capacities ranging from 6 to 50 m3, designed for large carpentries and timber merchants requiring high-productivity wood drying with controlled quality.
Operation and processThe system uses low-temperature vacuum cycles to evaporate water from wood without thermal shocks that cause cracks or deformations. A steam generator maintains surface humidity while a condenser controls the ambient-to-wood humidity gradient by precipitating suspended vapour. Air conditioning is achieved by alternating-flow fans, deflectors and a hot-water heated finned-tube battery that increases circulating air temperature and initiates water transmigration from cell interior to surface. Condensate is periodically drained to stabilise chamber conditions.
Advantages of EMV high-capacity systems- FAST DRYING: vacuum, low-temperature cycles enable humidity reduction rates often superior to conventional systems.
- OPTIMAL PRODUCT QUALITY: minimal cracking, warping or colour changes; preservation of mechanical properties.
- CAPABLE OF DRYING: very thick sections and very wet timber (boards, semi-finished items).
- LOW OPERATING COSTS: reduced thermal losses and efficient use of thermal and electrical energy.
- LOW MAINTENANCE COSTS: rational, simple construction and anticorrosive materials.
Main features- Autoclave: epoxy-coated steel; optional AISI 304 stainless steel for corrosive species; insulated lining with pre-coated sheet-steel.
- Electric control panel with microprocessor and dedicated control computer; PC connectivity for parameter adjustment and cycle archiving.
- Humidity and temperature probes for wood monitoring.
- Motor-driven extractor trolley and external guidance for extraction.
- Condensate circuit and heating unit: stainless steel finned tubes.
- Hydraulic vacuum pump with condensate handling; hot-water circulation pump; steam generator for surface humidification.
- Alternating-flow fans, deflectors and gearmotor-driven agitators to generate air turbulence inside the autoclave.
Installation requirements- Electrical supply (f.e.m. socket).
- Cold water supply.
- Drain well for condensate discharge.
