OverviewIndustrial sites often discharge significant waste heat and residual pressure, resulting in energy loss and environmental impact. Kaishan provides screw-expander-based solutions to convert waste heat and residual pressure into electrical power, suitable for a range of industrial heat sources.
Product types and solutions- Direct expansion generator sets using residual pressure
- Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) generator sets driven by waste heat
- Combined architectures: single-stage or cascade direct expansion, single-stage or cascade ORC, and direct expansion + ORC cascades
Screw expander design and working principleThe screw expander is a positive-displacement expansion machine, typically a twin-screw design. Kaishan screw expanders are optimized for gas/steam expansion and comprise a casing and a pair of intermeshing screw rotors. High-pressure gas or steam enters the working chamber, undergoes near-adiabatic expansion and drives the rotors, converting thermal/pressure energy into mechanical power. The inlet can accept saturated or two-phase steam, and the screw configuration sustains high isentropic efficiency across a wide load range.
Applications and track recordKaishan screw expansion generator sets are applied in steel industry waste-heat recovery, industrial residual-pressure power, geothermal power and bioenergy projects. Kaishan has completed more than 90 screw expansion power generation projects across steel, petrochemical, plastics, chemical fiber, geothermal and biomass sectors.
Global operationsKaishan has invested in, built and operated overseas geothermal power plants; its equipment and operational capabilities are recognized internationally, positioning Kaishan among global suppliers of geothermal and expansion-based power generation systems.
