OverviewThe VS2k visibility sensor from Lufft provides reliable visibility measurement for road traffic monitoring on motorways, highways and bridges. It reports visibility values up to 2000 m (specifications list a broader measurement range of 10 m–20,000 m). The VS2k-UMB variant is configured via the UMB Config Tool: read/change configuration, perform calibration, poll current measurements and load/store configuration files. Measurement output uses the standard Lufft UMB protocol.
Key Features / Functionality- Visibility measurement up to 2000 m (spec. range 10 m–20,000 m)
- Active Spider Defense (ASD): built-in vibrating motor reduces spider webs and contamination
- Configuration via UMB Config Tool: read/change settings, calibration, polling, load/store configs
- Outputs & communication: Lufft UMB protocol (UMB, ASCII-2.0), RS485 (2-wire, half duplex), analogue 4–20 mA
- Open, free-to-use communication protocol for straightforward system integration
