Collet types and applications
  • Spring collets (D173E): for second-operation work; collets are size-matched to gripped diameters for high accuracy. Standard collets available smooth or serrated, typically in 0.5 mm increments or to specific diameters.
  • Varibore collets (D673): for first-operation work; 2–3 mm effective range enables handling of rough barstock. Available smooth, serrated or super-grip.
  • Rubberflex collets: similar accuracy to spring collets; rubber-metal vulcanization provides elastic clamping range of ±1 mm to nominal diameter.

  • Adjustable workstops for collets (spring type) are available.
  • Long body / wide range: the CRL design optimises external dimensions to maximise tool clearance while providing extended gripping capacity (series range 1.6–80 mm).
