The CReSS Pocket is a portable and autonomous version of the widely used CRess Lab (Clinical Research Support System for Laboratories) reference system. This battery-operated device automatically measures smoking behavior parameters or characteristics including date, time, start and end of smoking, puffs per cigarette, puff volume and puff duration. Researchers can acquire behavioral information in the smoker’s natural setting over several weeks. Measurements are collected and stored in on-board memory for up to four weeks at a time. The stored data can easily be downloaded onto a Windows® computer. A built-in verification process ensures privacy and reliability of the data and restricts unauthorized access. The Clinical Research Support System (CReSS Lab) is a measuring device for the analysis of smoking behavior. The unit collects data characterized by parameters such as date, time, beginning and end of smoking, puffs per cigarette, puff volume, puff duration and puff profile. It is the first study reference device to combine data collection for subjective measures, smoking topography and performance tasks.
