EXM58 and EXO58 Ethernet encoders with EHG Energy Harvesting Generator The EXM58 and EXO58 are the absolute rotary encoders from Lika Electronic, featuring either magnetic or optical scanning technology and Ethernet interfaces. They are built with a standard 58-mm flange diameter housing and are available with either solid or blind hollow shafts. Designed to operate in typical industrial environments, they offer a protection rating of IP65 and the range of the operating temperature from -25°C to +85°C. The EXM58 and EXO58 encoders incorporate the EHG Energy Harvesting Generator technology platform. This technology offers several advantages: the multiturn counter is battery-free and gearless, the encoder can be light and compact, and the risk of mechanical failures is significantly reduced. The EXM58 encoder employs magnetic sensing technology, achieving up to 30 bit total resolution. The EXO58 encoder utilizes an optical measuring method and reaches up to 18 bit singleturn resolution and up to 30 bit total resolution. The EXM58 and EXO58 encoders can be equipped with the most popular Ethernet interfaces, including Profinet, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, POWERLINK, Modbus TCP, and CC-Link. They offer the following: • User-friendly integrated web server for easy and quick configuration and diagnostics. • Firmware upgrade capability. • Comprehensive diagnostic functions both through five dual-color LEDs and via software. • IP addressing through hardware switches and software methods, including DHCP server. • Flexible network architecture compatible with commercially available Ethernet installation options. They have an axial connector outlet. Additionally, the universal power supply circuit supports an input voltage range from +5Vdc to +30Vdc.
