Our AI-based turn assistant detects cyclists, pedestrians and other road users up to 40 meters (131 feet) behind and 10 meters (32.8 feet) in front of the vehicle when turning left or right. The warning is given visually and acoustically in three stages. It can be extended to include a front camera to prevent accidents when moving off.
Complies with the requirements of GSR II/ECE R151
Our system complies with ECE R151, which has applied to new vehicle types since 2022 and to new registrations from 2024. It detects VRU in the range of 0.9 to 4.25 meters (2.95 feet to 13.94 feet) to the side, 40 meters (131 feet) behind and 7 meters (22.97 feet) in front of the vehicle at speeds of 0 to 30 km/h (0 to 18.64 mph).
Two technologies are currently available to comply with R151:
Camera-based systems with AI
• Two AI-based cameras on the vehicle cabin, facing forwards
• Detection and differentiation of VRU through image analysis using AI
• Warning via LED indicator, monitor or signal tone
• Advantages: Image display, detection of VRU in the second row, fewer false alarms thanks to reliable AI
Radar-based systems
• 2 sensors on the right side of the vehicle cab, aligned to the front for moving off assistants
• Differentiation between moving and static objects by calculating distance and speed
• Warnings via optical and acoustic signals
• Advantages: Functionality in darkness and poor weather conditions, cost-effective
Your advantages at a glance
• Complies with ECE R151 and BMDV requirements
• Flexible use in commercial vehicles, trucks, and buses
• Detection of VRUs in the second row
• Two-stage warning: optical and acoustic
• Optional monitor for better visibility
