2D+3D PROCESSING SOFTWARE FOR ELECTRICAL TOMOGRAPHY, PROFESSIONAL VERSION
In areas where geological structures are approximately bidimensional (2D), standard 2D electrical surveys have been successfully used. Main limit of that surveys is probably the assumption of a 2D structure. In areas with remote structures, the only effective solution is a completely 3D survey.
Supported arrays include pole-pole, pole-dipole, dipole-dipole, equatorial dipole-dipole and Wenner-Schlumberger, together with non-conventional arrays. The RES3DINVx32/x64 programs use smoothness-constrained Gauss-Newton least-squares inversion technique to produce a 3D model of the subsurface from apparent resistivity data alone.
Like RES2DINV, it is completely automatic and user does not even have to supply a starting model. A Intel multi-core (or compatible CPU) based computer with at least 2 GB RAM and an 500 gigabyte hard-disk is recommended. It supports parallel calculations that significantly reduce inversion time.
RES 3D Professional can access up to 192 GB RAM; it can support 3D time-lapse inversion and also non-rectangular survey layouts (including inclined boreholes) using arbitrary electrodes data format, and I.P. inversion through complex resistivity method.
