OverviewThe Famacont PMC -15 is a non-contacting measuring and control system for continuous, in-process determination of thread density (weft/thread and course density) and basis weight of textile fabrics. The system is available with optoelectronic (reflex light) sensors or high-resolution camera sensors and uses digital signal processing and image analysis (FFT) to determine thread counts and derive basis weight for inline process control.
Optoelectronic sensor / Camera sensorThe optoelectronic version projects individual threads or courses onto a photocell via a precision oscillating lens; each thread passage generates a frequency signal proportional to the thread count. High-power reflex light LEDs provide illumination. The camera version uses a high-resolution imaging sensor combined with FFT-based image analysis to determine thread density in both warp and weft directions and to support accurate basis weight evaluation.
